A Police Officer Facing Trial For His Alleged Involvement In A Plot To Extort Monies From A Businessman

A Police Officer is facing a High Court judge for his alleged involvement in an elaborate scam to extort a businessman in 2015.

Prosecutors allege 47-year-old Joseph Peters used his position as Police Constable to intimidate the 57-year-old man into paying money to avoid prosecution.

The Court heard Peters, while dressed in uniform, threatened to arrest the businessman outside a condominium minutes after he had allegedly engaged in sexual relations with two young women.
