APUA CLOSER TO ROLLING OUT NEW RATE PACKAGES FOR BROADBAND CUSTOMERS……

Consumers of the APUA’s internet service can look forward to increased speed at a lower cost.

Back in August, Telecommunications Minister the Hon, Melford Nicholas revealed that APUA plans to offer a broadband package of 10 megabits per second speed at a cost of about 75 dollars monthly by November 1st.

Minister Nicholas now in an update says that although there ahs been a delay, it is still the government’s intention to go forward with the new plans.

He says that the delay was due to loan funds negotiated on behalf of APUS not being received for them to acquire additional capacity for Southern Fibre, but the funds have since been forth coming.

Nicholas says that some customers within certain areas in the country have already been benefitting for some upgrades to the APUA’s system.

The Minister notes that once the new backbone capacity becomes available the roll-out of the new plan will become available in earnest.
