This update now on a story we have been closely tracking…
Residents in Antigua & Barbuda may soon get a break from the spate of power outages.

That’s because APUA’s Electricity Business Unit Manager Andre Matthias is projecting normalcy to return by Wednesday of this week.

Matthias, who was a guest on today’s inaugural broadcast of the ABS current affairs programme Against the Backdop, based his projection on the Black Pine engine being due to come back online by that day.

In recent days, residents have experienced frequent outages, leading many to question whether they will be compensated should their appliances be damaged.
The electricity unit manager says compensation is possible, but an investigation has to first determine whether APUA is liable.
