BPM WINS ALL FIVE SEATS IN BARBUDA COUNCIL ELECTIONS

The Barbuda People’s Movement has won all five seats in Monday’s Barbuda Council elections. Successful candidate Wayde Burton received the highest number of votes. Other successful candidates on the BPM ticket were Melanie Beazer, Mackenzie Frank, Nico Antonio, and Nadia George. Eleven candidates participated in the election, including five from the Antigua & Barbuda Labour Party and one independent. Returning Officer Vernest Mack gives her assessment of the electoral process which she says was focused and calm.
