CHILDHOOD OBESITY MURAL UNVEILED

The southern wall of the Antigua Girls’ High School is now projecting a colourful and powerful message targeting childhood obesity.

The prominent message board serves as a reminder to children to make healthy food choices.

Our reporter, Cherilyn Beazer has been tracking this story and shares this very proud moment for the AGHS, the Ministry of Health, the Rotary Club and the OECS.

The mural’s message is depicted in English, French and Spanish.

The eastern end of the mural is significant spelling out STOP – Sugar, Type 2 Diabetes, Obesity and Palpitation.

The Rotary Club’s President is so pleased with the mural that discussions will be held with the Ministry of Health on using the remainder of the wall to bring awareness to other Non-Communicable Diseases.
