Government Has Three-part PlanTo Tackle Deficit

Government is to adopt a three-pronged approach to deal with the significant gap in the Budget.

The 2015 national Budget for Antigua and Barbuda has been signed into effect by the Governor General, Sir Rodney Williams. This follows that the various departments have been informed that they can now spend from the 2015 allocations.

Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Senator Lennox Weston, says the fiscal gap in the budget is a concern for the government. He says government however has a plan to deal with the more than three hundred million shortfall.

According to Senator…the government is looking to tourism, construction and a return of the gaming sector to drive economic growth.
