Government To Pay Out Well Over A Million Dollars In Outstanding Pay To Public Sector Workers And Service Providers For The Christmas

A large group of public sector workers and service providers are in for a good Christmas this year.
Cabinet at its meeting yesterday decided to respond positively to the appeals from the Minister with responsibility for Festivals, the Hon. EP Chet Greene for support in meeting a number of outstanding obligations.
As a result Cabinet decided that it will provide the commission with some $500 thousand to pay performers and service providers for the period 2016 and 2017.
Meantime a million dollars is heading the way of a large group of public sector workers.
The group includes the CBH, the NSWMA, workers at Fiennes, Clareview, Public Works, Customs and Excise Department, the Board of Guardians and the Foster Parents.
They are due various allowances and overtime payments. Truckers are also to get their due as a result of a number of services.
