Independence Launch 2013

The Dean William Lake Cultural Centre was the scene of a cultural festival on September 19th as the twin island nation launched its 2013 Independence Homecoming Festival under the theme “Antigua and Barbuda One Family: Celebrating with Pride, Vision and Integrity”. The launch featured a spectacular display of folk music, national songs and dances, speeches by Prime Minister the Hon. Baldwin Spencer who declared the celebrations open and Minister of Culture the Hon. Eleston Adams.

The country’s 32^nd Anniversary of Independence celebrations will feature the homecoming queen pageant, food fair, independence fete, the Golden Memories programme for the elderly, youth rally, and national dress day, among other activities
