Prime Minister Gaston Browne Pushes The Candidacy For OAS Ambassador Sir Ron Sanders

Antigua and Barbuda has improved the position of its nominee for the post of secretary general of the Commonwealth Secretariat.

The country has nominated Ambassador to the United States and the Organisation of American States, Sir Ronald Sanders, for the position.

The assessment comes from Prime Minister, Hon Gaston Browne, who says this is one of the positive outcomes of his trip to the United Nations General Assembly.

PM Browne says he lobbied on behalf of Sir Ronald during meetings with several heads of state including those from the Commonwealth.

Commonwealth leaders are meeting in Malta in November when they will elect a new secretary general.

Most Caribbean states are supporting Sir Ronald’s candidacy for secretary general.
