Prime Minister Spencer Condemns China Attacks

pmPrime Minister Dr. Hon. Baldwin Spencer has described last weekend’s knife attack in China as “distressing”.

Eight attackers last Saturday stabbed more than 100 people at a train station in Kunming, China, killing 29, and wounding more than 130.

The prime minister on Sunday voiced his strong condemnation of the March 1 terrorist attack.

In a note to the Chinese Premier, the prime minister pledged his support to the Chinese government’s efforts in bringing those responsible for the heinous crime to justice.

He stated that the People’s Republic of China is a close friend of Antigua and Barbuda and views the attack as disturbing.

The nation’s leader has extended condolences on behalf of the government and people of Antigua and Barbuda to the families of those who lost loved ones, and who were injured by the act.
