Prison Break Short Lived

prisonAn inmate of Her Majesty’s Prison who escaped early Sunday Morning, is back in custody.

24-year-old Rashawn Shabazz according to reports jumped the 30-foot perimeter fence, but his attempt to freedom was short lived.

Shabazz escaped around 7:20 am, but after a chase through St John’s, police cornered him near the emergency room at Mount St John’s Medical Centrean hour later.

The prisoner sustained several minor cuts for which he was treated before being taken back to jail.

Acting Superintendent of Prison Alfred David noted that, wardens were in the yard when Shabazz scaled the fence.

Investigations are ongoing.
