Telecommunications Minister Allays Fears Of Job Cuts

The thrust of the government of Antigua and Barbuda towards the use of the “Microsoft Office 365” platform, thus simplifying the ease of doing business, has been extended to other facets within the sector.

But while there may be some trepidation as it relates to job security, Minister of Information, Broadcasting and Telecommunications, the Hon. Melford Nicholas, is seeking to allay such fears.

Minister Nicholas has long touted that this platform will not only assist in the progress of Human Capital Development and improve interactivity between citizens and the government, but it will also allow for special initiatives within the Ministry of Education.

This latter possibility was embraced by Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Rosa Greenaway. She discusses the potential such an endeavor will hold for the future of education in Antigua and Barbuda.


Meanwhile, Khalil Mohammed says Software One shares the vision and passion of Minister Nicholas, which is to provide a platform to grow and develop the broadcasting and ICT sector.

Mohammed is the Software One Territory Manager, for the Eastern and Southern Caribbean.
