Who should sign Voter ID Cards?

The issue of whose signature should be affixed on the Voter ID Card was addressed in the Lower House on Friday as the Baldwin Spencer administration tabled a bill regularize the process.

Voter ID Cards printed with the signature of the Supervisor of Elections Lorna Simon’s signature were rejected by the Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) in February.

Prime Minister Dr. the hon. Baldwin Spencer, who holds Ministerial responsibility for Elections, contends that from since the Commission’s inception the Chairman’s signature has always been affixed to the card.

But the St. Mary’s North MP the hon. Molwyn Joseph does not agree.

The debate continues in the House of Representatives .
