GOVERNMENT TO ROLL OUT HOTSPOT INITIATIVE

Meanwhile, students who returned to the classroom earlier this week will very soon have access to free internet hotspots as schools use a blended learning approach.

Minister Nicholas says the initiative will supplement measures already implemented by the government in collaboration with network providers to assist students.
While a number of details are yet to be ironed out, Minister Nicholas provides clarity on the reasoning behind the location of the hotspots.
He says they will be placed based on discussions between the Ministry of Information Technology, Inet, the Ministry of Education and the Member of Parliament representing the constituencies.

Meanwhile, Minister Nicholas says the service will not be extended to Barbuda at least in the first instance.
This he says is due to a significant drop in internet capacity on the sister isle.
