6.7 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes
According to the UWI Seismic Research Centre, a magnitude 6.7 earthquake shook Antigua & Barbuda and neighbouring territories early Monday. It occurred at a depth of 12 km, some 264 km SE of Antigua. The quake struck at approximately 8:38am, causing buildings to shake. There have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
Residents also report feeling an aftershock at 8:56 am.
