A&B CONGRATULATES FIRST DIPLOMAT FROM THE CARIBBEAN ELECTED TO LEAD OAS

Antigua and Barbuda and other member states of the Organisation of American States have elected Suriname’s foreign minister, Albert Ramdin as its first Secretary General from the Caribbean.

Ambassador Ramdin will serve for the 2025-2030 period, succeeding Uruguayan diplomat, Luis Almagro.

Antigua and Barbuda’s ambassador to the OAS, Sir Ronald Sanders has congratulated the newly-minted Secretary General, saying his elevation to this high office is a testament to his deep understanding of the hemispheric grouping.
