A&B HOSTS MAJOR REGIONAL EXHIBITION ON THE ENVIRONMENT
The OECS Environmental Sustainability Exhibition opened on Monday at the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus. Speakers highlighted a vision for a future that is “bright, bold and green.”
The exhibition goes beyond educating the public about recycling; it challenges participants to reimagine the relationship between humanity and the planet.
In his address, Pro Vice-Chancellor and UWI FIC Principal, Professor C. Justin Robinson, reminded attendees that the exhibits represent more than just projects; they are promises. He encouraged everyone to leave not just as admirers, but as ambassadors for environmental change.
Environment Minister, the Hon. Sir Molwyn Joseph, also delivered remarks. He emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship, affirming that Antigua and Barbuda is not waiting for global consensus to act, but has already taken decisive steps to protect its environment, culture and people.
Following the official opening, students from Five Islands Primary, Jennings Secondary and Green Bay Primary eagerly explored the exhibits. They particularly enjoyed experiencing the impacts of climate change on marine wildlife through a virtual reality headset and also inspected an electric vehicle.
