A&B PARTICIPATES IN KING’S BATON RELAY WITH UNIQUE INITIATIVES
Commonwealth Sport has joined with the Royal Commonwealth Society to combat plastic pollution through a new initiative aimed at preventing one million pieces of plastic from entering Commonwealth waterways ahead of the 2026 Games.
As part of the campaign, each Commonwealth nation and territory received a Baton to customize as a symbol of their culture. Antigua & Barbuda’s Baton was designed by renowned artist Heather Doram.
Before all 74 Batons are reunited at the Glasgow 2026 Opening Ceremony, Antigua & Barbuda’s first stop is the Good Humans 268 Headquarters in John Hughes. The local non-profit is hosting a weeklong expo, showcasing their eight-step recycling process and highlighting their ongoing commitment to sustainability. The first 100 visitors received free recycling bins to encourage eco-friendly habits at home.
