ABCAS TO EVENTUALLY ATTAIN UNIVERSITY STATUS – GOVERNMENT

The Government expects the Antigua and Barbuda College of Advanced Studies, ABCAS, will become a university in the long-term.

Landmark legislation was passed in Parliament’s Lower House on Thursday to consolidate the operations of four post-secondary institutions into ABCAS.

These are the Antigua State College (ASC), Antigua and Barbuda International Institute of Technology (ABIIT), Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI), and the Harrison Centre Antigua and Barbuda School of Continuing Education. Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne says the aim is for ABCAS to grow and develop.
