ABDF OUTLINES EFFORTS AT BORDER SECURITY

Chief of Defence Staff Colonel Telbert Benjamin says the issue of border security is high on his agenda.
Prime Minister the Hon Gaston Browne has promised an aircraft will soon form part of the Government’s arsenal.

The issue of border security has received significant attention in recent weeks on the heels of the disappearance of Mehul Choksi from the country and the case of David Smith who fled via boat to St Kitts and Nevis.
Colonel Benjamin told Antigua Barbuda Today the Defence Force has been mandated to do more and changes in legislation are also on the table.
