ABEC Ready For Elections 2014
With the highly anticipated General Elections, just days away, the Antigua Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) indicates that it is ready for D-Day.
In a telephone interview with ABS News, Public Relations Officer, Anne Harewood- George, says the commission is moving full speed ahead.
She adds that all the ballots have been printed and the ballot boxes are also on hand.
She encourages those persons who have not collected their voter’s identification cards to do so as soon as possible. She adds that distribution centers will be opened on Tuesday and Wednesday for the remaining individuals.
To date 45, 246 cards have been collected, which George says is about 94% percent to the total.
The Public Relations Officer says the commission has been meeting with representatives of the four international observers that will be monitoring the June 12 proceedings- the Organization of American States (OAS), the Commonwealth Secretariat, CAPEL from Latin America and Caricom.
