A&B’S GE’EVE PLACES SECOND IN QUEEN OF QUEENS CALYPSO CONTEST
Antigua and Barbuda’s reigning calypso monarch Ge’eve delivered a powerful performance to place second in the Queen of Queens Calypso Competition in Montserrat Tuesday night.
Queen Terri Lyons of Trinidad and Tobago emerged the winner with a score of 985, followed by Ge’eve as first runner-up with a score of 947.
Trinidad and Tobago’s Roselyn Reid-Hayes placed second runner-up with a score of 888.
Queen Ge’eve, who is also the reigning Leeward Islands calypso monarch, was the fourth performer on stage.
The three queens were among nine of the region’s top female calypsonians who squared off in the riveting contest.
The last Antiguan and Barbudan calypsonian to capture the crown was Queen Thalia in 2018.
