AHTA RESPONDS TO HOLIDAY ABSENTEEISM

Antigua Hotels and Tourist Association Chairman Vernon Jeffers says while there have been cases when hotel workers decided not to work on a holiday… it isn’t the norm.

However, he says steps are being taken to ensure hotels can serve their guests on holidays.

Labour Minister Steadroy Benjamin said some hoteliers have complained about staff refusing to work on Whit Monday.
The Minister has since held discussions with stakeholders and plans to hold further talks on the 8th of July.
