ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA ABSTAINS IN UNGA VOTE ON UKRAINE RESOLUTION

Antigua and Barbuda has abstained in a United Nations General Assembly vote on Monday calling for a mechanism for Ukraine to receive reparations for damage from Russia’s invasion.
The twin island state and the other 13 independent states of Caricom all abstained.
In all, there were 73 abstentions.
94 countries voted in favour of the resolution while 14 voted against.
It recommended the creation by member states, in cooperation with Ukraine, of an international register of damage, loss or injury from Russia’s invasion.
