Antigua and Barbuda Claims Bronze at Inaugural OECS Super Regional Robotics Challenge
In a historic display of technical prowess and collaborative spirit, the Antigua and Barbuda National Robotics Team has secured a third-place finish at the inaugural OECS Super Regional STEAM Robotics Challenge. The competition, held in St. Kitts, from March 16–20, 2026, brought together the brightest young minds from across the Eastern Caribbean to compete in a high-stakes arena of innovation and problem-solving.
Representing the Ministry of Education, student innovators Micah Matthew and Michael Harvey, under the expert guidance of Coach Tijah Myers, navigated a series of rigorous technical trials to claim the bronze medal. The achievement is a testament to the talent residing within the Irene B. Williams Secondary School and the growing strength of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) ecosystem in Antigua and Barbuda.
This inaugural event has been a subject of regional discussion for years, designed to build capacity among Member States. By placing 3rd, Team Antigua and Barbuda has signaled that the nation is not merely a participant in the digital revolution, but a leader.
