ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA EXPECTED TO REAP MAJOR BENEFITS CARNIVAL CRUISELINES HOME-PORTING DEAL
Carnival Cruise Line is to begin allowing passengers to fly into Antigua and Barbuda to board its vessels, an arrangement called home-porting.
It is projected to result in an uptick in economic activity in Antigua and Barbuda; officials also expect it will be a springboard for further business engagement with the cruise company.
Senior representatives of Carnival Cruises arrived in Antigua and Barbuda on Tuesday for talks with various stakeholders in preparation for the start of the deal.
They also paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne at his office.
Tourism Minister Hon. Charles Fernandez was bullish on the prospects as he spoke with ABS News about Tuesday’s discussions.
