Antigua and Barbuda Hosts High-Level EU-Caribbean Talks
Antigua and Barbuda is hosting the First Plenary Session of the Caribbean-European Union Parliamentary Assembly. The high-level engagement is taking place between today and Wednesday between lawmakers from Europe and the Caribbean. They are discussing shared priorities, including climate resilience and energy transition, trade and investment, transnational organised crime, multi-lateralism and the situation in Haiti.
Prime Minister Browne is delivering the main address at the opening ceremony at the conference centre of the American University of Antigua, AUA. He says the Caribbean seeks deeper European investment in renewable energy and the blue and orange economies.
Youth and women’s fora are also key features of the Assembly.
