ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA PROJECTED TO BE SECOND-FASTEST GROWING ECONOMY IN LAC IN 2024
Antigua and Barbuda is forecast to be the second-fastest growing economy in Latin America and the Caribbean by the end of this year.
The projection is contained in the latest report from the United Nations’ Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, ECLAC.
ECLAC expects the twin-island state’s economy will see growth in real Gross Domestic Product of 6.3 per cent for 2024.
Guyana, with its booming oil and gas industry, continues to lead growth in the region, with ECLAC projecting the South American nation will see economic expansion of 29.2 per cent this year.
Antigua and Barbuda is also set to be the second-fastest expanding economy in the region in 2025, with ECLAC forecasting 4.8 per cent growth, behind Guyana’s 17.8%.
