ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA RECEIVES “LARGELY COMPLIANT RATING” FROM GLOBAL FORUM.

Antigua and Barbuda has received a Largely Compliant rating from the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax purposes. The rating reflects significant progress on the part of Antigua and Barbuda to meet compliance requirements.

In 2023, Antigua & Barbuda was included on the EU’s list of non-cooperative jurisdictions for tax purposes. This country’s Global Forum rating at the time was “partially compliant”.

Specific reforms to improve tax governance and transparency by Antigua & Barbuda included:

– Strengthening of beneficial ownership and counter records requirement

– Enhanced supervision, enforcement and compliance monitoring

– Enhanced supervision of FSRC and IRD

– Active Enforcement Actions including penalties and compliance interventions
