Prime Minister and Finance Minister Hon, Gaston Browne says revised data show the country’s economy grew by 7.4 per cent in 2021.
He made the announcement on Pointe FM Saturday afternoon, citing fresh data from the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, ECCB.
The latest figure for growth in real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2021 is significantly higher than the 5.3 per cent from the preliminary estimates.
Prime Minister Browne says this has been impressive in light of the economic dislocation caused by the pandemic especially in 2020.
The Central Bank is responsible for monetary policy in the currency union.
Prime Minister Browne joined fellow regional heads for a recent monetary council meeting, which also examined the impact of global inflationary pressures on the sub-region.
