ANTIGUA & BARBUDA SETS COURSE FOR NEW ENVIRONMENTAL FIRST
Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne has announced that Antigua and Barbuda will become the first Future Island Nation in the Caribbean.
He was at the time addressing the Global Citizen Concert Event that took place in Central Park in New York last night.
The concert was attended by over 60 thousand persons and seen by a television audience of many more on NBC.
Browne says Antigua and Barbuda will team up with Parley for Oceans to introduce a strategy that will end the threat of marine plastic pollution, putting this nation on course to becoming a Future Island Nation.
Standing next to Prime Minister Browne there was the CEO of Parley Cyrill Gutsch, who shared his company’s vision for the future.
Antigua and Barbuda became the first country in the Caribbean to eliminate plastics in 2018.
