ANTIGUA CAN STORE 30,000 DOES OF VACCINES REQUIRING ULTRA-COLD FACILITIES
Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne says Antigua & Barbuda can store thousands of doses of Pfizer/Biontech and Moderna vaccines.
These vaccines must be kept at usually cold temperatures of about negative-70 degrees Celsius.
It is still unclear which vaccine will be acquired for Antigua & Barbuda, but the Prime Minister is encouraging everyone to take the vaccine once one becomes available.
He says COVID-19 could linger among humans for decades, so there must be mass inoculation.
Prime Minister Browne says he is confident the Pfizer vaccine, taken by over 30,000 volunteers before FDA approval, is safe.
He says there will be a public education campaign, and he will be the first to take the vaccine to prove it’s safe.
