ANTIGUA SEEKING TO APPROVE ADDITIONAL VACCINES

Minister Nicholas says the Health Ministry is seeking to have additional COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in this country.

They include- the Sputnik K from Russia, the Sinopharm from China, the Soberena from Cuba and the Pfizer and Moderna from the United States.

Minister Nicholas says cabinet invited the committee to look at other vaccines to ensure there are options.

Addressing questions of whether or not people or private institutions and medical practices can bring in vaccines outside of the AstraZeneca the Information Minister says yes.

The Antigua and Barbuda Pharmacy Council is authorized under law, to approve the use of vaccines.
