ANTIGUAN ASTRONAUTS
Keisha Schahaff and her daughter Ana are set to become the first female astronauts hailing from Antigua and Barbuda.
Kiesha entered the Virgin Galactic and Omaze Sweepstakes in July, and was adjudged the lucky winner. Over that 8-week waiting period, the sweepstakes was able to raise over 1 million dollars in donations to various charities.
These two lucky Antiguans will become the first Caribbean people to join the Virgin Galactic “Future Astronaut Community”, of 700. The flight which is scheduled for later next year will require a month of training at the Virgin Galactic Space Centre in New Mexico.
We here at ABS extend our heartiest congratulations to Keisha.
