ANTIGUAN EARNS PHD IN PUBLIC HEALTH

Antigua and Barbuda is celebrating another seminal academic achievement by one of its own.

Dr Jewel B. Thomas has officially earned her PhD in Public Health from East Tennessee State University in the United States, graduating on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

This milestone places Dr Thomas among a select group of Antiguans to achieve a doctoral degree in public health from the state of Tennessee – an accomplishment that brings pride to her family, her community, and the nation.

Dr Thomas credits her success to the unwavering support of her family as well as her tutors, friends, and well-wishers who stood by her throughout her academic journey.

She is being saluted for raising the flag high and inspiring the next generation to dream boldly and pursue excellence.
