APUA TO ADDRESS SHOCKING REPORTS OF SOME LARGE BUSINESSES BYPASSING ELECTRICITY METERS

The Antigua Public Utilities Authority is responding to reports that some large businesses, including supermarkets, might be paying much less for electricity than they are actually using.

The utility provider is taking steps to ensure it does not lose revenues on account of some large entities ostensibly bypassing their meters.

Director-General of Communications in the Prime Minister’s Office, Maurice Merchant, commented on the issue during Thursday’s post-cabinet media briefing.
