APUA’s Water Catchment Levels Rise
Antigua Public Utilities Authority is promising consumers an improvement in water supply.
Recent rainfalls have resulted an easing of drought conditions, and APUA’s water catchments rising to higher levels.
APUA is reporting that its facilities in Bendals Valley are filled, along with Dunnings, Fisher’s, Hamilton and Big Creek. The authorities are hopeful that the ground water levels have also risen.
Water Manager Ivan Rodrigues says while APUA is not out of the dire situation it was in during the dry periods, however, it is now in a better shape.
Starting this weekend, consumers may be able to access water for longer periods, with the activation of the Bendals water treatment plant.
