AUTHORITIES TO MONITOR PRICES FOR PASS-THROUGH OF TEMPORARY TARIFF REMOVAL

The Prices and Consumer Affairs Division is preparing to begin assessments to ensure consumers are paying less, due to the temporary removal of the Common External Tariff.

The CET has been suspended on dozens of basic food items and the authorities insist all savings must be passed on to consumers.

The measure is aimed to cushioning inflationary pressures on households across the nation.
