BARBUDA COUNCIL SECRETARY AND ANOTHER MAN ARRESTED AND CHARGED
The Secretary of the Barbuda Council, 51 year old Paul Nedd as well as another Barbuda resident, 52 year old Alexander Garvey have been offered bail after being arrested and charged this morning. They were jointly charged in connection with the blocking of the entrance to the Palmetto Point Development in Barbuda. They were charged with Obstruction of traffic, Disorderly Conduct and Obstructing Police in the Lawful Execution of their Duties. They are now on bail in the amount of $2,500 each and are to appear in court in September.
The PLH Project is developing an 18-hole golf course at Palmetto Point as part of its multi-billion-dollar investment. Police allege one of the men blocked the area with a truck this morning; they were arrested about 8am.
