BARBUDAN CAVES TARGETED BY VANDALS
Several Barbudans have expressed dismay at the deliberate act to deface historically important caves on the sister island. In what some activists have called a shocking act of cultural destruction, names have been inscribed on once untouched walls within the caves.
The vandalism has sparked community outrage, with locals condemning the deliberate damage to one of Barbuda’s cultural treasures.
Nonprofit organization, BarbudanGO, has joined calls for accountability, stating, “our heritage sites are not canvases — they are sacred spaces that deserve protection.”
