CANNABIS SEIZED AT VC BIRD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Cannabis smuggled into the country anong items of food and clothing was seized at the Cargo shed at the VC Bird International Airport on Tuesday.

Two cardboard boxes which arrived on Amerijet cargo were searched and a total of 19 packages with the drug were found. The boxes were taken to Police Headquarters as the investigation intensifies.

The drug interdiction operation was carried out about 3:35 in the afternoon by officers from the Police Narcotics and K-9 units as well as the Customs Enforcement unit.
