CDC PLACES ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA IN LOW RISK CATEGORY FOR COVID-19
The US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has placed Antigua and Barbuda in the level 1 category or low risk for COVID-19. The twin-island state had previously been at level 3 or high risk.
The Level 1 ranking is assigned to countries where the rate of COVID-19 transmission is low.
The development is likely to provide a major fillip to this country’s sputtering tourism industry which is seeking to recover quickly from the travails of the pandemic.
The CDC still recommends travellers be fully vaccinated before venturing to countries with Level 1 risk status.
