CHEST PAIN CENTRE TO BE ESTABLISHED AT SLBMC AS A&B SIGNS AGREEMENTS WITH CHINESE HOSPITAL
Antigua and Barbuda has taken a major step toward establishing a chest pain centre at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.
The health ministry has signed seven memoranda of agreement with Hanghzou Normal University Affiliated Hospital in China, which will pave the way for the chest pain centre and several other areas of collaboration.
A chest pain centre provides specialist care for patients who have suffered heart attacks.
Medical director at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, Dr Shivon Belle Jarvis welcomes what she is calling a ground-breaking development.
She says the figures show the chest pain centre will be a crucial addition to the hospital’s services.
