CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF COMMENTS ON REFORM

A reaction this evening from Chief of Defence Staff, Colonel Telbert Benjamin to amendments to the legislation governing the military.
Colonel Telbert Benjamin says the overall aim is to enhance solidarity and productivity within the organization.
Central to amendments were the sections covering Powers of officers, Petty Officers, Special Duties of the Coast Guard and Power of Arrest.

He says the Force is being prepared for the future to protect the interests of the country’s Blue Economy push and to ensure the safety and security of the country to include Ports and fisheries.
