CHOKSI PLIGHT SHINES ATTENTION ON THE CIP

The ongoing Mehul Choksi affair has brought renewed attention to the arrangements by which applicants gain citizenship through this country’s Citizenship by Investment Programme.
Minister for Information the Hon Melford Nicholas says he is assured the protocols are indeed rigorous.

In response to the firestorm of controversy over Choksi’s citizenship, Minister Nicholas reveals there were no documented charges against him at the time the application for Antiguan and Barbudan citizenship was made or approved.
The Minister says Choksi did in fact know of pending charges and this is what the government takes issue with.
