Clinics Extend Hours as Government Moves to Ease Hospital Pressure

Published

on

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda is expanding the Community Extended Hours Programme and hiring six new doctors to improve access to primary healthcare.

From April 13, the Grays Farm and Clare Hall clinics will operate until 9 p.m., with Villa and Glanvilles polyclinics to be added later as staffing increases.

The programme is intended to reduce pressure on the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre by handling more non-emergency cases at the community level, while continuing to refer patients needing specialist care.
