AG ESTABLISHES CONSTITUTIONAL REFORM COMMITTEE

Attorney General Sir Steadroy Benjamin says a committee has been established to address consitutional reform. He made the disclosure during a special sitting to mark the opening of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court’s 2026 Law Year on Monday.

Sir Steadroy says he will chair the committee and Justice Simon KC will be his vice chairman. Other members of the committee include Dr Lenworth Johnson and St John’s Rural West Member of Parliament, Richard Lewis.

The Attorney General also says Opposition Leader, Jamale Pringle, and leader of the Barbuda People’s Movement, Trevor Walker have been asked to nominate a member for the core committee.

The public will also be invited to meetings.
