COMMONWEALTH SG EXPECTS COP28 TO BE ONE OF “IMPLEMENTATION”
Commonwealth Secretary General, Baroness Patricia Scotland KC says Small Island Developing States and other developing countries must make the COP28 climate change summit count.
The meeting which will take place in Dubai later this year, will see countries such as Antigua and Barbuda make a determined push on the issue of loss and damage from the impact of climate change.
Antigua and Barbuda has co-founded the Commission of Small Island States on Climate Change and International Law, COSIS, which seeks to intensify the push for climate justice.
COSIS is moving to seek an opinion from the International Tribunal on the Law of the Sea regarding climate change.
