COMMONWEALTH SG SURPRISED BY CHALLENGE, HOPES JAMAICA’S NOMINEE WILL WITHDRAW

Commonwealth Secretary General Baroness Patricia Scotland has told ABS News in an exclusive interview she is surprised by the nomination of Jamaica’s Foreign Minister to challenge her.
She is now hoping Senator Kamina Johnson Smith will rethink the decision ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Rwanda’s capital Kigali in June of this year.
Baroness Scotland has already served six years in the post, since the 2020 CHOGM has been delayed for the past two years because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
