CONSULTATION BEGINS FOR NEW PRIMARY SCHOOL IN BARBUDA

The consultation process has begun between education officials and members of the Barbuda Council on the long-awaited plan to construct a new primary school on the sister island.

The agreement between the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and the Dominican Republic was signed in 2024, but the project has experienced several delays.

The replacement of the structure housing the Holy Trinity Primary School was one of the commitments made to Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Browne by a previous administration in the Dominican Republic, when he had sought assistance for Barbuda’s recovery efforts following the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma in 2017.
